Can my parents arrange for my accommodations?

No. The Center for Accessibility Services welcomes parents’ questions concerning
accommodations and services available to students. We recognize that parents and
family members have supported their student over the years, and are familiar with his or her abilities and accommodation needs. However, now that a student is in college, it is an opportunity for him or her to develop their own self-advocacy skills. For this reason, we strongly encourage all parents to have their son or daughter contact The Center for Accessibility Resources directly. This will provide the student with the opportunity to learn about the services available, and what responsibilities go along with receiving accommodations at college.
